VET Fee Help

VET FEE HELP is an Australian Government program providing loans to help eligible students enrolled in certain VET courses to pay their tuition fees. The program that comes in this category is:

  • Diploma
  • Advanced Diploma
  • Vocational Graduate Certificate
  • Vocational Graduate Diploma

Eligible Australian students have access to tuition assistance of up to $99,389.00 via the Australian Government’s VET FEE-HELP loan scheme.

Eligible Criteria

You are eligible for VET FEE HELP if you:

  • are studying at an approved FEE HELP provider (approved provider) or through Open Universities Australia (OUA);
  • meet the citizenship and residency requirements:
    • You are an Australian citizen or a New Zealand Special Category Visa holder who meets the long-term residency criteria and who will undertake, in Australia, at least one unit of study contributing to your course; OR
    • You are a permanent humanitarian visa holder who will be resident in Australia for the duration of your unit.

Repayment is made through the tax system and is initiated once you are in the workforce and your income rises above the minimum repayment threshold. The threshold for the 2015-16 income years is $54,126.00.

NOTE:

For 2016, the FEE-HELP limit is $99,389.00 for students undertaking Diploma or Advanced Diploma courses and $124,238.00 for students undertaking a medicine, dentistry or veterinary science course.
