Who is a student?

Anybody who has just completed his/her HSC (Higher School Certificate) and would like to join university for higher education to improve his/her knowledge or vocational education to improve his/her skills in some specific area.

Sometime a combination of both vocational education such as diploma and advanced diploma leading to bachelor degree is more beneficial. Most of the universities give credits to students who has already completed diploma.

This is very beneficial as a student could have both the vocational qualification to improve their skills as well as to get a bachelor degree to improve their knowledge and they are ideal candidates for the real world.

Who is a trainee?

A trainee is a candidate who has just completed his/her bachelor, master, and vocational education and needs training in workplace communication and applied technology for some specific job.

These days almost every job is becoming a customised as the employer has not sufficient resources to train people on the job. As a guide if you have just completed Bachelor degree in Accounting and are going for an employment:

  1. You must have very good workplace communication skills that is how to communicate in the workplace at all levels;
  2. You must have a very good working knowledge of applied technology such as MYOB and SAP, FICO (Finance and Control module).

Who is an intern?

An intern is a person who has just completed his/her higher and/or vocational education along with training in their related profession and would like to get “hands on” work experience in the real world aligned to their profession.

Internship may be paid or unpaid depending upon the employer and are usually temporary between three weeks to a year. An internship consists of an exchange of services for experience between and intern and an organization.

Who is an employee?

An employee is a candidate who has completed his education, training, and internship, and some real job experience. He must be quite confident in handling all the duties and responsibilities as per organisation policy and procedures.

He must be proficient in his technical knowledge and skills, have excellent communication skills at all levels, and be confident in applied technology, a good team manager and how to solve problems. He must be an innovative and has achieved some specific goals.

What is CPD?

CPD means continuous professional development. We are working in an integrated gigantic global village. Almost every profession is changing and to keep ourselves up to date we need to develop our knowledge and skills to remain competent in the highly complex, competitive, and compliant global business environment.

These days almost every profession needs a minimum number of CPD hours to keep our professional membership. For example CPA Australia requires a minimum of 40 hours professional development per year otherwise your membership is no longer valid.
